Extract text from images using OCR technology
Recognize text in images and scanned PDFs using OCR (Tesseract), and download the result as text. Works with screenshots, photos of documents, and scans.
OCR accuracy depends on image quality: straight, well-lit, high-contrast pages recognize far better than skewed or blurry photos. Pick the correct language before running — recognition uses language-specific models.
Handwriting, stylized fonts, and low-resolution images (under about 150 DPI) give poor results. The OCR engine and language data are downloaded from a CDN on first use; images are processed locally.
Files are processed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
