About FileMorph

FileMorph is a collection of free tools for working with everyday files: merging and splitting PDFs, converting between formats, compressing large files, fixing scans, and editing documents. There are currently more than 50 tools covering PDFs, images, audio, video, spreadsheets, and fillable forms.

How the tools work

Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your web browser. When you select a file, it is read directly from your computer by JavaScript running on the page, processed there, and the result is saved straight back to your computer. No copy of your file is ever sent to — or stored on — a server. That is why most tools keep working even if you go offline after the page has loaded.

This approach has practical benefits beyond privacy. There are no upload or download waits for the file itself, no queue, no file size ceilings imposed by a server, and no account or sign-up. The trade-off is that your own device does the work, so very large files are limited by your computer's memory and speed.

What the tools are good at

Everyday document tasks: merging invoices into one PDF, flattening a filled form before sending it back, shrinking a scan that is too large to email, rotating pages that a scanner fed in sideways, or pulling the text out of a report. Media tools handle common conversions — images to PDF, audio trimming, video compression towards a target file size.

Under the hood

PDF work is done with pdf-lib and Mozilla's pdf.js, document parsing with mammoth and SheetJS, image processing with the browser's own canvas, OCR with Tesseract.js, and audio/video conversion with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The site itself is a static page — there is no backend processing your files.

Cost

Everything here is free to use. There is no premium tier, no watermarks on output, and no daily task limit.
